While it may be beneficial to complete the courses listed below as recommended preparation, there is no guarantee they will transfer as exact UCLA equivalents. Substitutions for lower division requirements will be determined by the department in the summer following admission. In addition to classes taken within the DMA department, students complete a series of general education courses and are encouraged to take other electives from the university to broaden their experience. Since 2021, BOEM has held four offshore wind lease auctions – including a record-breaking sale offshore New York and New Jersey and the first-ever sales offshore the Pacific and Gulf coasts. BOEM has also advanced the process to explore additional opportunities for offshore wind energy development in the U.S., including in the Gulf of Maine and offshore Oregon and the U.S.
Senior Project
The programs in the Department of Art offer students the opportunity to acquire a background of understanding and skills, and to develop their abilities in the visual arts. The programs prepare students for advanced professional study in art as well as for many professions in teaching, business, and industry. Students with career interests in animation, ceramics, graphic design, photography, illustration, computer graphics, painting, printmaking, sculpture, art history, fashion and textiles, and art education will find appropriate programs or courses of study in the department. Students pursuing careers in other fields may benefit from combining the study of art with their professional preparation. The Minor in Art or the Certificate in Fashion, Fiber and Materials are available to these students.
Program Philosophy
Course examples for the Graphic Design BFA Program at Sacramento State include Graphic Design Systems, The Photographic Self, Typography I-II, Design and Thinking, Digital Imaging, User Experience Design, Design Fundamentals, User Interface Design, and Visual Basics II. Students will also take the Graphic Design Digital Portfolio and Professional Practice course in the final year of the program. Upon completion of the Visual Communications BFA Program at Cal Poly Pomona graduates will have a professional portfolio of their best work. Examples of required courses for the program include Design Theory, Contemporary Issues in Design, Designers in Residence Forums, Individual Studies, and Advancement. Otis College of Art and Design is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). The school is also a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). Serving more than 1,200 students, the school offers 11 BFA degree programs and MFA degrees in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Public Practice, and Writing. Programs and courses at Otis College of Art and Design are led by more than 430 professors—all active professionals in their respective fields. Courses for the UCLA DMA Programs are taught as studios, with no more than 22 students.

Portfolios that are submitted in excess of this page and size restriction will not be reviewed by the admissions committee. Trail of the Chiefs — Carbon Solutions, LLC (Okemos, Missouri) intends to conduct a FEED study for an open-access, 488-mile CO2 pipeline capable of transporting up to 32 million metric tons of CO2 per year across Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The project will unite and coordinate tribal energy opportunities across these states, connect and support existing Department of Energy investments such as projects funded under the Carbon Storage Assurance Facility Enterprise program, and include considerations for future pipeline expansion. Design Frameworks: History & Methods
The internship provides the opportunity to work for a publication, advertising agency or design studio under the supervision of Graphic Design faculty. The Graphic Design BFA at California State University, Fresno (Fresno State) is housed in the College of Arts and Humanities’ Department of Art, Design, and Art History. This professional program requires 72 units in the major and explores user experience, typography, motion graphics, visual thinking, illustration, history of graphic design, computer graphics, and web design. It is primarily orientated to prepare students for professional design practice, based around project work and studio or atelier teaching methods. This program prepares students to enter into professional practices in interior design, as well as positions as showroom managers, product representatives, private entrepreneurs and furniture designers. Rigorous studio courses with world-renowned faculty enable students to develop their skills and find their voices in a wide range of mediums. Intensive making is augmented by courses in art history and critical theory, as well as liberal arts studies in other academic fields across the UCLA campus. Other program features include small classes taught by recognized professionals in the field, the opportunity to create projects in areas such as branding, apps, web design, and packaging, and access to a designated senior studio outfitted with individual work spaces for digital and production work.

In our experience, strong portfolios often opt to describe a limited selection of projects in depth, rather than account for a large breadth of projects superficially.
